Named scholarships & funds

When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.

For this reason, The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of UA alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.

Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.

If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

The Austin-Bailey Health and Wellness Foundation Award at Wayne College was established by the Austin-Bailey Health and Wellness Foundation in 2019. The Foundation, founded in 1996, assists students through scholarships at higher education institutions in a four-county region in Ohio.

To be eligible for consideration, students must be enrolled full- or part-time at The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Wayne College and be either: (l) in their second year of study in a health-related program, having completed at least one year; or, (2) in their third year of study in a general science major, having completed two years. Candidates must reside in Holmes, Stark, Tuscarawas or Wayne counties and have a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average. Part-time applicants must maintain a minimum of six (6) credit hours.

Awards may be used to help defray the cost of tuition and fees, books, supplies, and licensure fees. Selection will be determined by the designated Wayne College representative or committee and will be based on academic performance and financial need. The Austin-Bailey Health and Wellness Foundation will review the selection for final approval. This award is open to non-traditional and traditional students who meet the criteria, but preference is for non-traditional students. Applicants may reapply for the award for a maximum of three years; however, Wayne College officials will determine continued award eligibility per student. Candidates are required to complete an additional application form at Wayne College.
