Named scholarships & funds

When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.

For this reason, The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of UA alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.

Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.

If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

Andreeff, Nickolas P. and Marilyn M. Scholarship Fund

Two of the most beautiful verbs in the world are “to love” and “to help.” With love and appreciation for her parents, Nickolas P. and Marilyn M. Andreeff, Margaret E. Andreeff Matejkovic has established The Nickolas P. and Marilyn M. Andreeff Scholarship Fund to help students at The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law.

The values upon which Nickolas and Marilyn Andreeff live their life and the pillars upon which they raised their three daughters, Margaret E. Andreeff Matejkovic, Karen Andreeff Martin, and Laura Andreeff Ephlin, are family, faith, and service to others. Nick and Marilyn are active in the community, serving Edwin Shaw Hospital, Fairlawn-West United Church of Christ, Bath United Church of Christ, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Regional Development Board, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ and Ohio State Bar associations, Witan, and ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ City Hospital Women’s Board in key leadership positions. Nick, a 1952 alumnus of The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ and a 1960 alumnus of The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law, is business corporate counsel with the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, Ohio, law firm of Brennan, Manna & Diamond, LLC. Marilyn, a teacher, earned a bachelor of arts degree in education from The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ in 1956. In obtaining their degrees, both Nick and Marilyn worked full time while attending classes. They are the very proud grandparents of six grandchildren: Nickolas, Allison, Thomas, and Jill Martin and Catherine and Andrew Ephlin.

The purpose of The Nickolas P. and Marilyn M. Andreeff Scholarship Fund is to provide assistance for an evening student attending classes at The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law. It will be awarded annually by the dean of the School of Law to a deserving individual. If for some unforeseen reason the School of Law is unable to make this award, The Nickolas P. and Marilyn M. Andreeff Scholarship Fund will provide support for an undergraduate evening student at The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ majoring in history, English, education, political science, or public administration.
