For this reason, The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of UA alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.

Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.

If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

The Department of Development does not accept applications for or distribute scholarships. Scholarships are distributed through the University’s Office of Student Financial Aid.

Carboline Company and NACE International Foundation Scholarship for Corrosion and Reliability Engineering at The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College of Engineering

The Carboline Company and NACE International Foundation Scholarship for Corrosion and Reliability Engineering is funded by gifts from The Carboline Company through the NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) International Foundation.

The Carboline Company was founded in 1947 by Stanley Lopata, in St. Louis, Missouri. Its reputation for corrosion resistant technology has been built through years of successfully providing superior corrosion and fireproofing protection around the world. Carboline has four manufacturing facilities in North America (Green Bay, Wisconsin, Lake Charles, Louisiana, Louisa, Virginia and Toronto, Canada) and over 30 service centers / warehouses located throughout North America. Both The Carboline Company and the NACE International Foundation are dedicated to protecting the environment, promoting public safety, and reducing the economic impact of corrosion by advancing the knowledge of crrosion prevention and control.

This scholarship fund is established in September 2010 by the The Carboline Company and is awarded through the NACE International Foundation to support the education of corrosion engineers at The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ. The Carboline Company and NACE International Foundation Scholarship is to be funded on an annual basis. Eligible recipients will be full-time undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Engineering at The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ with a declared major in Corrosion and Reliability Engineering (CARE). 

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ receiving the scholarship may be either incoming or currently enrolled and must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0, making progress toward completion of their engineering degree. ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ are expected to display leadership qualities, be self-motivated, have interest in corrosion protection industries and be willing to participate in co-operative education or internship programs. ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ may receive a maximum of four Carboline Company and NACE International Foundation scholarships during the course of their undergraduate studies. Selected students will be presented to Carboline prior to the award for confirmation that they meet relevant criteria. Carboline's agreement is assumed unless Carboline replies to the College of Engineering within ten (10) business days to the contrary.
