For this reason, The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of UA alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.
Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.

The Department of Development does not accept applications for or distribute scholarships. Scholarships are distributed through the University’s Office of Student Financial Aid.

Goodyear Scholarship Program
With its commitment to supporting the success of students and families in its ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, Ohio, home, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company herein establishes the annual Goodyear Scholarship Program. The program is designed to provide opportunity to hardworking students and families, as well as to educate today's students to become leaders in tomorrow's industry.
The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's Office of Financial Aid will have the authority to administer the program and select recipients with representatives from Goodyear within the following guidelines:
- Twenty scholarships of $2500 each will be available annually.
- Scholarship recipients must be graduates of a Summit County school district, with preference given to students who attended ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Public Schools.
- Applicants must be enrolled as full-time undergraduate students and maintain a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.
- Applicants must have a minimum 2.8 GPA.
- Each academic year, 10 of the scholarships should be awarded to freshman students. The other 10 can be designated to students who have declared majors in the following areas: engineering, finance/accounting, information technology, business management/human resources.
- In future years, scholarship recipients must reapply annually and re-qualify to receive the Goodyear Scholarship for up to five years. After renewals are approved, all remaining scholarships will be divided equally.
- ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ must maintain full-time enrollment to remain eligible for scholarships.
- Consideration should be given to sons and daughters of Goodyear associates and also to graduates of the Summit Education Initiative (SEI) Destination College program. Goodyear and SEI will work with the University to verify enrollment and GPA.
