When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.
For this reason, The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of UA alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.
Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.
If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

The Department of Development does not accept applications for or distribute scholarships. Scholarships are distributed through the University’s Office of Student Financial Aid.

Wells, Hoyt M. and Merdith Graduate Fellowship in Polymer Science
The Hoyt M. and Merdith Wells Graduate Fellowship in Polymer Science was established to provide for an outstanding College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering student who has achieved academic excellence and is pursuing a graduate degree in polymer science. The student must be a U.S. citizen. These funds will be used to offset the cost of books, student travel to technical meetings, and summer support for student living expenses.
This scholarship is funded by Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Wells, friends of The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ and members of the President’s Club of the John R. Buchtel Society. Mr. and Mrs. Wells are longtime members of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Community and The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company family. Mr. Wells' career with Goodyear featured involvement in many facets of the company's business and culminated in his serving as president, chief operating officer, and vice chairman of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Mr. Wells also has served as president of The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Foundation and chairman of the College of Engineering Advancement Council. The Dean of the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering and the University Scholarship Committee will select the recipient of this scholarship.
