Named scholarships & funds

When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.

For this reason, The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of UA alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.

Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.

If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

Aupperle, Louise Memorial Scholarship

The Louise Aupperle Memorial Scholarship was created in her memory by her husband, Dr. Kenneth E. Aupperle. It was Dr. Aupperle's wish to create an award in Louise's memory with an emphasis on the University Women's Club, of which she was a member.

The recipient of The Louise Aupperle Memorial Scholarship will be selected by the Office of Student Financial Aid on a rotation through all of the colleges. This award will be given to a student in the same college as that of the Faculty Women's Club Scholarship.

In order to be considered for this scholarship, candidates must provide, among other indicators of satisfaction of the above criteria, a brief narrative about themselves and their goals for the future. Candidates also must have a demonstrated need for financial assistance.
