When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.
For this reason, The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of UA alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.
Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.
If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

The Department of Development does not accept applications for or distribute scholarships. Scholarships are distributed through the University’s Office of Student Financial Aid.

Davis, Dr. George D. Endowed Scholarship in Speech-Language Pathology
The Dr. George D. Davis Endowed Scholarship in Speech-Language Pathology was created in 2006 through the generosity of Dr. George Davis and his wife, Joy W. Exy. Dr. Davis was the department head of the School of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology at The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ from 1974 to 1989. During his tenure as department head at The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, he expanded the program offerings in the school and doubled full-time faculty positions. Dr. Davis’ desire is to promote the profession of Speech-Language Pathology and alleviate the great need for financial assistance many students experience. Mrs. Exy wishes to honor her husband and the program to which he dedicated his career with her contribution.
The Dr. George D. Davis Endowed Scholarship in Speech-Language Pathology will be awarded to a student(s) majoring in Speech Pathology with preference given to an undergraduate student. Recipients must have a demonstrated strong academic record and will be selected by the Speech-Language Pathology Scholarship Committee in coordination with the Office of Student Financial Aid.
