Named scholarships & funds

When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.

For this reason, The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of UA alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.

Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.

If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

Elliott, Frederick W. Scholarship for Men's Soccer

The Frederick W. Elliott Scholarship for Men's Soccer was established in 2018, and revised in 2021, by Fred Elliott, a 1987 graduate of The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College of Engineering. He has been an avid and loyal fan of the Zips Men's Soccer program since 2009. As one of the program's longest-serving season ticket holders, Mr. Elliott is a familiar face around First Energy Stadium - Cub Cadet Field. He also supports the team on the road during regular and post-season matches and has attended all of the team's College Cup appearances, including the 2010 National Championship, with the exception of the 1986 appearance while he was a UA student.

The Frederick W. Elliott Scholarship for Men's Soccer must be awarded to a member of the Men's Soccer team. While not required, first consideration will be given for a student-athlete majoring in any engineering or STEM field. Annual award selection will be made by the head Men's Soccer coach. Mr. Elliott will be notified of the selection by a representative of UA.
