Named scholarships & funds

When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.

For this reason, The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of UA alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.

Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.

If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

Greene, Robert Endowed Scholarship

The Robert Greene Endowed Scholarship was established in 2021 in Bob's memory by his three children -- Mike, Aimee, and Cindy - to honor and carry forward his legacy. He was an ambitious entrepreneur with technical aptitude and a talent for relationship building. As a mentor to many, Bob imparted his work ethic and the importance of enjoying the work environment to his family, friends, and employees.

Bob was born April 6, 1941 in beautiful Claremont, Indiana, the son of Bernice and Robert Greene. After graduating from Ben Davis High School in 1959, where he lettered in football, Bob studied engineering at the Chicago Allied Institute of Technology. He met his wife, Virginia Jalowiecki, in the windy city and the two married in the fall of 1965, moving to Ohio a year later and settling in Medina.

An entrepreneur and pioneer in the HVAC industry, Bob founded Air Control Products in 1975, and was a longtime member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA) accrediting organizations. In his spare time, he volunteered at both ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Children's and Medina County Hospitals and founded Greene's Acres community garden in Broadview Heights in 2011. Bob conveyed a passion for his business, family, and community and created lifelong friendships.

Bob was a true original who found pleasure in life's small things. He wintered on the idyllic island of Daufuskie in South Carolina, where he spent his days walking the beach, golfing and tending to the community farm. He was an avid collector, an excellent golfer, a practical joker and an adventurer. He traveled the world with his longtime companion Judy Townsend - riding camels in Morocco, exploring the gardens at the Taj Mahal, golfing the rustic courses in Scotland and climbing the pyramids of Egypt. He was an inspiring individual who will be truly missed by many.

Undergraduate or graduate students enrolled full-time or part-time at The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ are eligible for The Robert Greene Endowed Scholarship. First consideration will be given to those pursuing a certificate in Professional Selling for Engineering Majors, followed by sales students who have expressed an interest in a career in Business-to-Business sales. ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ must have demonstrated financial need and have a minimum 2.75 GPA. Selection will be made by the Director of The Ronald R. and Diane C. Fisher Institute for Professional Selling or their designee.
