Biography

Bill Lyons is a Professor of Political Science, an Associate Dean for the college, and a recognized Outstanding Teacher of the Year at The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ

His most recent book, The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Story Circle Project: Rethinking Race in Classroom and Community, co-authored with colleagues from five different disciplines, was published in 2017. He was also featured in  in February 2017.

Bill’s first book, The Politics of Community Policing (1999, University of Michigan Press), was an analysis of the neighborhood politics surrounding the emergence of community policing in Seattle.  He has also published Punishing Schools (co-authored with Julie Drew in 2006, University of Michigan Press) and Sound-Bite Saboteurs (co-authored with Julie Drew and Lance Svehla in 2010, SUNY Press).
