Mudry, Dr. Karen M. Achievement Awards for the Biomedical Engineering Talk and Poster Competitions
Richard D. Avil Jr. and Dr. Karen M. Mudry established an endowment for The Dr. Karen M. Mudry Achievement Awards for the Biomedical Engineering Talk and Poster Competitions in 1990. Richard Avil elected to name these awards in honor of his wife, Dr. Mudry, first head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, because the talk and poster competitions were initiated during her tenure as department head. The income from this endowment shall be used to fund the awards for the biomedical engineering students with the best talks and posters in the annual departmental competition.
