Federal Work-Study

The Federal Work-Study Program is a federally funded, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ-based aid program designed to provide part-time jobs for eligible students with financial need.

  • Jobs are located both on and off-ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ.
  • ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ are paid at least minimum wage. Some positions pay a higher wage.
  • ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ work around their class schedules.
  • ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ receive a bi-weekly paycheck for hours worked. 

To participate:

  • Submit the  no later than December 1 each year.
  • ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ must have demonstrated financial need per the FAFSA.
  • ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ must be meeting .
  • ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ must be enrolled at least half time (6 credit hours) each semester they are employed.
  • ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ may not work more than 29 hours per week.
  • ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ may not work during regularly scheduled class times or activities.
  • Student earnings may not exceed the amount of Federal Work-Study that appears on their most recent financial aid award.

Details

The Office of Student Financial Aid will send an award notification to eligible students with instructions for securing a job.

Fees owed The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ will not be deducted from wages earned through the Federal Work-Study Program.

Though program earnings are taxable income, they are excluded from consideration as income on the FAFSA for the following year.
